The collaboration is well underway, and you’re invited! We are doing a joint with Saskatchewan, Shanghai and Argentina this year in what used to be C.O.R.E., then was the Souk and now is the Midway! Be a part of the hubba jubba under the Man in Black Rock City for Burning Man 2015. We have a page for you to like here

and if you want to don a top hat and lab coat and pull a shift showing people around our museum of oddities you can join the group here

Check it out, a new camp forming needs your help. If you are inspired get in there, they sound like a great concept and they need you! um We Want You!  meh. just do it.

Combat veterans host a theme camp to share their war experiences through discussion and art while taking in the self expression, art and community of Burning Man. We are seeking help because only 4 of our 20 campers/artists got tickets so far, so I need help pulling this together.

Our camp will have:

*30’x40′ tent with art displayed.
*specialty drink bar (in the art tent)
*memorial wall. (We will put our friends’ names here, but will have markers for burners to write on the wall too.)*sculpture garden
*18′ diameter dome for discussions, PTSD meditation and Q&A

What we need:

*Art. (We’d like all of our art to made by veterans, but will accept provocative art by others if it depicts military or veteran life.)

*Materials for our memorial wall. (Eight 2’x6′ panels (1 1/2″ thickness or less) plus eight 2″x4″ (4′ long)*one or two EU 2000 or 3000 generators (depending on costs, I might rent one. We’ll see what happens)

*Transportation (Not sure we’ll get enough campers, so if anyone can offer to transport pieces of our camp, it would be a big help. The 18′ dome is in San Francisco. But the tent, memorial wall, bar and some art will just need a ride from Reno.)

*Reno Builders (We will have a work party last week of July for the memorial wall, and our sign. Not a lot or tough work, just need a few pairs of hands)

*CAMPERS!!! No camp dues, just requirement to bring alcohol or generator fuel (waived for whoever brings the generators)
(We need people to help build and tear down and/or make themselves available to talk to burners who come by, Run a Q&A, or TED Talk type discussion on combat, PTSD, or transition home.)

And

*Tickets (I figure no harm in asking.  Out of the 20 campers, I have 7 veterans that I think would really get a lot out of going and are still dedicated to going and holding on to the hope that we will find tickets. So, any connection to tickets are very welcome too).

Any help, even advice is welcome.

Great article in the NY Times on David Best and team’s temple burn in Northern Ireland. It’s wonderfully affirming proof for what we can do in the world to bring people together through our style of art-making and our shared principles. Burning Man Project worked with Artichoke in the UK to bring David there to work with locals on this temple. – $teven

Well as someone with Irish roots myself this really hit home for me. The article brought me to tears, had to share. here’s to finding peace – RLL
