July NorthBayNews

belly up to the lemonade bar North Bay, it’s gonna be a scorcher!
Our very own North Bay CORE project is coming together nicely.  The Twisted Upright House is nearly complete, at least the pieces are coming together and you can see them for yourself all assembled and lit up, but not on fire, at the Humboldt County Meet and Greet on July 28th.  The lighthouse will be displayed twice before heading out to the playa, and I’m heading up with the rest of the RC’s to see the build crew and the burn structure before Goatt and the other DPW boyz head out to Gerlach.  Nathan from Trinity will be there, and we are really looking forward to having everyone in one spot.  Come celebrate with us, and meet the folks working in the four corners to bring your CORE to the playa.

To find LOTS OF VERY affordable, recycled bikes for Burning Man visit Re-Cyclery, a bike thrift store operated by Trips for Kids.  Re-Cyclery is located at 610 4th Street in San Rafael and is open Tuesday – Friday noon – 6 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. Each year Trips for Kids takes hundreds of inner-city kids from the Bay Area on guided mountain bike adventures, many of whom have never been outside of their urban neighborhoods.  In 1999 Trips for Kids became a national program. There are now 75 chapters from coast to coast, with more in the works. info@tripsforkids.org  http://www.tripsforkids.org  415-458-2986 (Mon – Friday 11 – 4pm)
