2004 Camped with the Department of Tethered Aviation at five o’clock and Esplanade. Worked with Paperboy on sewing the projection screen for the Bok Globule with Leo Villareal and Carter Emmart. The theme was the Vault of Heaven, and the temple was David Best’s Temple of Stars. Got Moylans to donate kegs to the Paddy Mirage. Played Santa Rosa Decompression with Rev Jess and the Medicine Cabinet. Lived on ePlaya in the Bar thread, and then migrated to Tribe.net with the other eplayans when outages left us with no place to play online.
2005 Camped with the Department of Tethered Aviation at seven o’clock and Esplanade. Worked a Greeter shift on opening night. Co-founded the Bureau of Erotic Discourse with Diva Flamma and the Glam Goth Diva. Volunteered with RobbiDobbs on the pottie project, and hung BED posters in every porto in Black Rock City.
2006 Camped with the Department of Tethered Aviation at eight thirty and Esplanade. Continued to volunteer with the Bureau of Erotic Discourse on playa and at local events. Participated in on playa playshops, and provided erotic coaching at the Critical Tits after party. Interviewed honorarium artists for the Black Rock Beacon, I don’t think any of it got used. This was the year I wasn’t going to go, couldn’t get the time off work. In the end I left Friday after work and drove up anyway. Found a rideshare on eplaya, got there Saturday morning at like 2am burn weekend. Worked the BED booth at SF Decom with Littlewing.
2007 Camped with the Department of Tethered Aviation at three o’clock and Esplanade. Began volunteering as a Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Advocate with the Black Rock City Emergency Services Department, Mental Health Branch. Continued to volunteer with the Bureau of Erotic Discourse on playa and at local events.
2008 Camped with the Department of Tethered Aviation at four o’clock and Esplanade. Served as camp treasurer. Continued volunteering as a Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Advocate with the Black Rock City Emergency Services Department, Mental Health Branch. Worked with the founding mothers on the Critical Tits ride and after party.
2009 Camped with the Department of Tethered Aviation at three o’clock and Esplanade. Served as camp treasurer. Continued volunteering as a Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Advocate with the Black Rock City Emergency Services Department, Mental Health Branch. Worked pre burn on KCC fundraising and construction.
2010 Camped with the Kinetic Cab Company at nine o’clock and Esplanade. Worked on construction of the Depot with honorarium artists Duane Flatmo and Elliot Naess, and on the fire installation with Quorum Incendiarios. Worked post burn on Feed the Artists fundraising and social media campaigns. Attended Ranger training at Juplaya.
2011 Camped with the Critical Tits crew in walk-in at 3:15, my second year of being on playa for a full three weeks. Volunteered as a Black Rock City Ranger. Helped to design and build the Steam Portal and brought it out to the playa. Worked a shift in Everywhere. First year working perimeter, got to do the CORE burn and the Man burn. First year as a Regional Contact.
2012 was epic. Camped at Ranger Outpost Berlin in the 3 o’clock plaza. Had the honor of lighting the fuse on our CORE project. Thanks Pyroglyphics!. Second year as a Black Rock Ranger, mostly worked Intercept and walked dirt shifts but I also helped out in HQ some too. Did not get to really go pre-event this year as my ten year old daughter was starting a new school and my presence was requested at home. Did stay a few days after the event which was awesome. On the last night in walk-in I slept with the tent windows open – no dust.
2013 Camped with the Snuggery Bunnies in the Nexicon Portal Camp at 4:00 and Extraterrestrial. My first year in an RV, very odd, super comfy. Very strange having a freezer on playa! Justin and I rode our matching bikes around and checked stuff out together. I did a few things as a regional like pull shift in Everywhere and help host a Bacon Fest social with the rest of the on playa North Bay Burners but mostly I played and did not work. It was fun, I still didn’t manage to see everything, and I went out more at night to clubs than I ever had. Came in Tuesday due to vehicle troubles and left early Monday morning after Temple burn.
2014 Organized the North Bay Oasis, a theme camp by the North Bay Burners at 3 o’clock and Ephesus. Helped out in the Souk and gave away a ton of scrap art. Held the annual on playa bacon breakfast meet and greet.
2015 Organized the North Bay Freakshow, an art support camp for the North Bay Conclave fire crew and the Sask Playa Odditorium Midway crew located on Arcade and 3:15. Spun fire in the Great Circle before the Man burn. Hosted the annual on playa bacon breakfast meet and greet. Worked the Odditorium in the Midway at the Man base.
2016 Camped in walk-in at around 3:05. Helped out pre-playa on the Temple build in Petaluma with David Best and crew. Volunteered with the Black Rock Rangers. DJ for our annual meet and greet on playa, this year we did a dance party honoring Prince and Bowie at Campoline.
2017 Camped at 2:45 and G with Camp Journeylizm. First year with my new vintage trailer named George. Drove Intercept for the Black Rock Rangers, worked Man Burn perimeter, and deployed as Sandman for the Temple Burn. Volunteered as burn perimeter for the Big Cheese burn with the Reno Burners. This year our annual meet and greet on playa was at Camp “Oh, No You Didn’t!”
2018 Camped at H and 6:15 with Tarwater. George did great under the carport we were gifted and the burlap sides we made worked really well. Continued to volunteer with the Black Rock Rangers doing Intercept and working the Great Train Wreck, Man and Temple perimeters as Sandman. Back at Camp “Oh, No You Didn’t!” for the annual on playa meet and greet.
