To find LOTS OF VERY affordable, recycled bikes for Burning Man visit Re-Cyclery, a bike thrift store operated by Trips for Kids. Re-Cyclery is located at 610 4th Street in San Rafael and is open Tuesday – Friday noon – 6 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. Each year Trips for Kids takes hundreds of inner-city kids from the Bay Area on guided mountain bike adventures, many of whom have never been outside of their urban neighborhoods. In 1999 Trips for Kids became a national program. There are now 80 chapters from coast to coast, with more in the works
Do you have your ticket and ready to perform on the Center Camp Cafe Stages? Well then, we have great news– we have a few spots left and wanted to make sure you had a chance at them!
We want YOU to share your original musical mayhem with the playa!
We love large and small acts, the strange, obscure and just generally pouring your heart, soul, inspiration and tunes out with glory.
We open at 8pm Monday August 25th and run until Monday morning 7am September 1st!
How do you sign up to perform at the biggest little living room on playa, you ask? Follow me down the rabbit hole:
Fill out our Performer Gathering Tool!
Let us know the name of your act, what you’ll be performing, a link to your latest work, that you already have your BM 2014 ticket and of course confirming that is all original.
-.-.-.-.
Spoken Word Stage:
The Spoken Word Stage wants timid, thunderous, brilliant, querulous, ideological, raunchy, funny, insightful, obscure, unique voices. It needs your voice.
Whether you are a seasoned performer, or so terrified of public speaking you quake at the mere thought, The Spoken Word Stage is a supportive, welcoming place to share your all original poetry, storytelling, spoken word, soap-box rants, stand-up comedy and performance art.
The stage is open from 11am-6pm from Monday until Sunday. Email magenta@burningman.com
The open-mic is from 5-6pm, Monday through Wednesday, and 4-6pm Thursday through Sunday.
Original material only, please. We want to hear your words and works, not somebody else’s.

The Coffee Shop in Center Camp Cafe is still accepting volunteers of all kinds! We really take Radical Inclusion to heart and, if you’re willing to work with us, we’d like to find you a volunteer position for you. There’s really nothing like the hustle of running through the lines, so that people don’t have to wait so long and nearly every position that we have is a member of a smaller team and a member of a bigger team, too! So, you get to not just meet a few new people, but work with them and, well…that just creates a special bond.
The counter is staffed with Ringleaders, Register Jockeys, Experienced Baristas, Runners, Brewers and a huge range of little things that need doing.
Hours:
We are open 24/7 throughout the event, from 3pm Monday, August 29th, through 3pm Monday, September 5th.
Contact:
We’d love to schedule you up for some shifts in our café! Please keep in mind that the late night shifts are always the hardest for us to fill, so if you’re up for it please take one of those on. They’re lots of fun! Watching the sunrise from behind the coffee shop counter is nothing short of bliss! (Especially the mornings after a good burn…) So what we need from you is simply send an email to coffeeshop@burningman.com
Tickets:
We do not have any tickets to give out to even the best volunteers.
::: Reminder ::: Have stuff you want included? Please send to northbay (at) burningman (dot) com with POST REQUEST in the subject line. It will be considered for the next monthly announce newsletter which comes out around the first of the month. The North Bay Burners Facebook group at http://www.facebook.com/
