South Bay Regional Burn – June 21-23! It’s the seventh annual regional summer precom in the Los Gatos hills! Get ready for three days and two nights of community, dance, art, performances, drummers, musicians, theme camps, random acts of radical self-expression, and more!
Gear up for the playa, do some practice CAMPING (shake the dust out of your tent, test your air mattress, see how warm your playa coat really is!), PARTICIPATE in the creation of a playa-rific experience for everyone who attends. BRING you favorite theme camp, camp mates, art car, costume or music, ANTICIPATE how the “Cargo Cult” theme will manifest in costume, and CONTRIBUTE by bringing or leading an activity to show your fellow burners how it’s done! And … get a sneak peek at this year’s CORE project!
Interactivity and community involvement are the driving forces behind SoulFire … get in touch with what makes YOU real and find a way to share your SoulFire with everyone!
We are inviting volunteers for greeters, rangers, DJs, and a fire lead (yes! there will be fire this year!) Or, schedule a workshop on any topic under the sun and it will be included in the What/Where/When! Prior years have seen participants on such varying topics as the annual Virgin Workshop, Chill Dome Construction, Yoga and Burlesque Workshops, Aerial Rope performances, and the More Cowbell Saloon. If you are interested in participating in SoulFire with your theme camp, have an art piece you would like to display, or want to schedule a workshop, please send an email to southbay (at) burningman (dot) com with the subject “Placement”.
Tickets are available online through Wednesday, June 19th atwww.southbayburners.org/events
To chat with your fellow burners about the event, see our Facebook event athttp://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/event.php?eid=169877293067094 See you there!

To help our community help itself and support the cottage industry that’s grown up around our little shindig in the desert, we will publish our Burning Man Resource Listing again this year. So, if you’re a Burner-owned or Burner-oriented business, and would like to offer your wares to the Burners everywhere, fill out this form by Wednesday June 26, 2013:
(NOTE: DO NOT SEND YOUR SUBMISSIONS TO THE JACKRABBIT … THEY WILL BE IGNORED. *ONLY* USE THE FORM ABOVE.)
We will create a webpage of all submissions (that don’t violate copyright, trademark or other laws) and publicize it to our community starting on July 1, 2013. Late submissions will not be considered for publication … no exceptions. We reserve the right NOT to publish anything we deem inappropriate. For more info about our policies regarding trademarks and other intellectual property, please see:http://www.burningman.com/press/trademarks.html
And remember … Burning Man is NOT anti-commerce. We’re against commodification, which is quite a different thing. We recognize that commerce makes the world go around, and we believe in the creativity and drive of small business owners. Those are the folks we seek to support here, in the face of mass market consumerism. Keepin’ it in the family. So, participating businesses … thank you for serving and supporting our community!

Temple for Christchurch: we need you! As is the case for temples at Burning Man, the TFC project has been conceived as a way for the people of Christchurch to let go and move on from their experiences of the Christchurch earthquakes. What makes the TFC special? The temple is designed to replicate the seismogram (earthquake squiggly lines) of the February 22 earthquake in 3D. Its dimensions are 40m long by 25m wide by 6.3 m tall (6.3 was the initial Richter magnitude assigned to the Feb 22 earthquake), and it is beautiful. You can check out the design images in the website http://
